PixelArk is a video game wiki. Reading it requires no account. This page explains what we collect when you use it, why, and which services process it on our behalf. Questions, or a request about your data: [email protected].
Your account
When you create an account we store your email address, your username and your password, hashed (we never see it in clear). Your email address is used only to verify it and to send you a code when you forget your password; we send no newsletter. Your username is public, next to your ratings and comments.
While you are signed in, a session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Security cookies protect the forms. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.
What you post
Your ratings, likes and comments are stored with your account and shown on the game pages. You can delete your comments at any time.
Technical data
Our servers see your IP address. We use it to keep download links to the visitor they were given to, to limit abuse (too many attempts, spam), and in short-lived technical logs. Your active sessions record the device and address they were opened from.
Services that process data for us
- Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the forms (sign-in, sign-up, password reset, email verification) and the extras are used by a person rather than a bot; on the account forms it runs without showing anything. See the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum and Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Brevo sends our emails (verification and password reset codes). It receives your email address and the content of these emails. See Brevo's privacy policy.
- YouTube plays trailers. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you click a trailer, and it then plays from its privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com). See Google's privacy policy.
Game data and covers come from IGDB and Wikidata; covers are served from our own servers, not theirs.
How long we keep it
Your account and what you posted are kept until you ask us to delete them. Technical logs are kept for a short time only.
Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your data, or to receive a copy of it, by writing to [email protected]. If you live in the European Union, you may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
